SANY unveils ground breaking electric excavator for European market

SANY Heavy Industry, a manufacturer of construction machinery, has introduced its first medium-sized electric excavator for markets outside China.

The SY215E, which made its debut in the Netherlands, is set to revolutionise the construction industry with its impressive features and eco-friendly design.

The SY215E boasts a remarkable battery capacity of 422 kWh, providing five to seven hours of operation on a single charge.

The machine is expected to save operators approximately €21,560 (AU$35,500) annually compared to traditional excavators, making it a cost-effective solution for construction projects.

One of the standout features of the SY215E is its high-power dual gun fast charge capability, allowing for a full recharge in just 70 minutes. The rapid charging time minimises downtime and maximises productivity on job sites.

The excavator’s performance is equally impressive, with a maximum digging height of 9,600 mm and a maximum digging depth of 6,255 mm.

Its ability to maintain stability at altitudes above 4,000 metres makes it suitable for use in challenging environments such as tunnels and small mines.

SANY has prioritised user comfort and ease of operation in the SY215E’s design.

The new C12 cab provides a low-noise working environment, while features like a large HD touchscreen and intelligent fault self-diagnosis system enhance the operator experience.

Safety is a key focus of the SY215E, with multiple protection systems including anti-rollover protection and overload alarms.

The excavator also features emergency shutdown and fault self-inspection functions to ensure swift action in critical situations.

The SY215E is equipped with an intelligent monitoring system that allows for real-time tracking of equipment status and performance indicators.

This capability, combined with SANY’s comprehensive after-sales support, ensures minimal downtime and optimal performance throughout the machine’s lifecycle.

Since its arrival in the Netherlands in May, the SY215E prototype has generated significant interest, resulting in numerous pre-sale orders.

This positive reception underscores the growing demand for electric construction equipment in Europe’s environmentally conscious market.

With its combination of cost-efficiency, exceptional performance, and enhanced safety features, the SANY SY215E electric excavator is poised to make a significant impact on the European construction industry, setting new standards for sustainability and productivity in the sector.
