In a world first, the Australian Reinforcing Company (ARC) has launched a highly innovative and sustainable residential slab building system that completely revolutionises the slab building process called LOKPOD™.
ARC is getting serious when it comes to taking action and focusing on ground-breaking new products and solutions such as LOKPOD™, that have a positive impact on the environment and present a sustainable option that will benefit generations to come.
LOKPOD™ which is locally produced in New South Wales and Victoria, offers a 100 per cent Australian-made polystyrene pod alternative that comes with an in-built chairing system, eliminating the need for traditional bar chairs and spacers in concrete slabs and significantly reducing time and cost to build a residential or industrial slab.
LOKPOD™ is a game-changer for the construction industry, speeding up and simplifying the slab building process. It features a unique design for easy interlocking installation on site, with each quadrant locking into the next when setting down. It also complies with all relevant Australian construction standards.
The compact design also means the product can be easily stacked, which takes up less space on a construction site and removes the risk of the pods blowing away in the wind.

2) LOKPOD™ comes in a range of sizes including 300mm and 225mm. A 150mm is currently being developed and will launch soon.
Made from recycled plastic, LOKPOD™ is officially certified as being better for the environment as ARC invests in a green future.
One of the main advantages of LOKPOD™ is that it doesn’t require a separate engineer certification and meets all relevant Australian standards. With the same size range as industry alternatives, LOKPOD™ is a true one-to-one substitution that delivers an easy to use and more efficient installation.
Following a soft launch in 2022, LOKPOD™ has been attracting attention across the industry and was recently awarded the 2022 HIA-CSR Hunter Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Award for Product Innovation.
Product availability will be scaled up in Victoria and New South Wales in the first half of this year.
