Green Star Fitouts: Early Access Program EOI closing soon

Green Star Fitouts: Early Access Program EOI closing soon

Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Green Star Fitouts Early Access Program (EAP) will open on July 15, 2024, and will close on July 26, 2024, at 5 PM.

The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) will announce the selected members of the program on August 9, 2024.

The EAP is designed to engage participants in shaping the upcoming Green Star Fitouts rating tool. Its objectives include:

  • Informing the details of what the rating tool rewards.
  • Learning from projects that apply draft requirements in real time.
  • Generating confidence in the scope and application of the rating tool.

The program will accept fitout projects across various sectors, including offices, retail, education, and hospitality, as well as volume fitout projects.

Successful applicants must have a dedicated team prepared to support the submission process and provide feedback on draft credits from September to November 2024.

This feedback will be instrumental in refining the rating tool prior to its public release in the second half of 2025.

In September 2023, GBCA consulted with industry stakeholders to gather insights on the proposed vision for the new Green Star Fitouts rating tool.

This consultation saw high engagement, with 90 unique submissions received, reflecting broad support for the proposed changes.

The GBCA is said to be committed to enhancing the user experience and efficiency of the certification process, aiming to make obtaining a Green Star rating more accessible for a diverse range of projects.
