Q CELLS next generation solar storage solution pushes boundaries with 15 year warranty

22 Feb, 2022
107

Q CELLS will introduce its next generation energy storage solution Q.HOME CORE – the first to provide a standard 15 year product warranty for an energy storage solution – to the Australian market, providing a significant upgrade to the brand’s total solar solution for solar buyers.

Q.HOME CORE, the third generation energy storage system (ESS) from Q CELLS, integrates a solar inverter with a modular battery system developed by fellow South Korean manufacturing giant Samsung SDI. The modular system allows additional batteries to be added when required. Q.HOME CORE offers solar owners a market-leading 15 years product warranty, backed by Hanwha Solutions, Q CELLS’ South Korean Fortune 500 parent company. The Q.VOLT inverter is equipped with 5.0kW capacity and includes hybrid or AC-coupled options and Wi-Fi or LAN connectivity.

The Q.SAVE battery carries a safe and reliable Samsung Li-ion battery cell with storage volume of 6.86kWh. This scalable battery can be paired up to three units for maximum 20.5kWh capacity.

Q.HOME CORE is presented in a metallic silver casing with a sleek uniform silhouette, and flexible installation options for both wall-mounting and bracket system for floor-mounting.

Q.HOME CORE also includes proprietary production and consumption monitoring with the Q.OMMAND HOME app, allowing solar owners access to data and the opportunity to optimise the use of their system. The energy monitoring system tracks PV module’s energy generation and consumption while maximizing energy yields by incorporating real-time weather information.

The software suite also includes Q.COMMAND PRO and Q.COMMAND GO, specifically developed for installers to allow fast and easy O&M services and installation commissioning, respectively.

Q.HOME CORE is launching internationally first in Australia and Europe, and is scheduled for release to the general public in March 2022.

The first Q.HOME CORE systems in Australia will be utilised as part of the innovative Solar Victoria Virtual Power Plant (VPP) Pilot Program. Q CELLS Australia has been selected as one of just a handful of approved partners for the program and will offering participants a fully-integrated energy solution including Q CELLS modules, 100% green VPP energy plan and Q.HOME CORE.

Jin Han, Managing Director of Q CELLS Australia, said “This addition to the Q CELLS total solar solution allows homeowners the peace of mind of an outstanding battery storage product backed by our Fortune 500 parent company Hanwha Solutions, and the aesthetics that Australians are looking for to showcase their commitment to renewable energy in their own home” adding, “We’ve had a fantastic response from our QPartner solar retailer and installer partners who like the Q.HOME CORE for its modularity and ease of installation, but love it for its good looks. It makes it incredibly easy for solar buyers to be able to select a whole solar system from one brand, with one point of contact for support, and the long 15 year warranty to set their mind at ease.”
