Belkin recently released its 2023 Impact Report, outlining its ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
The company is already making significant strides toward this goal, aiming to be 100 per cent carbon-neutral in its global offices and operations by 2025.
In an official statement, Belkin’s CEO, Steve Malony, emphasised the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical governance.
He highlighted Belkin’s belief in the role of business as a force for good, stating that the company is dedicated to minimising its environmental footprint, supporting communities, and upholding high standards of integrity and transparency.
To achieve its 2030 goals, Belkin is implementing various initiatives, including enhancing its Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) capabilities to more accurately measure product-level emissions and ensure accountability in its supply chain.
Over the past year, Belkin has made significant progress in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals:
Packaging and E-Waste (UN Goal 12):
- Achieved a 63 per cent reduction in plastic packaging
- Replaced 64 metric tonnes of virgin plastic with post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials
- Funded the responsible recycling of 27,560 metric tonnes of electrical and electronic devices, 10,734 metric tonnes of packaging, and 763 metric tonnes of batteries
Climate Change (UN Goal 13):
- Recorded a 67 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in its operations
- Achieved 63 per cent carbon neutrality in scope 2 emissions
Belkin remains committed to exploring more responsible ways to manufacture products, reduce carbon emissions, and minimise waste.
Their efforts are part of a broader commitment to sustainability and making a positive impact on the world.
