The world’s first electric skid-steer loaders arrive in Australia

Electrical Machinery Sales are proud to bring to the Australian market FIRST GREEN Industries’ two machines, the standard-sized Elise900 and the remotely controlled MiniZ 400.

Already making waves in the European and North American markets, the world’s first electric skidsteer loaders are built in Europe, are free from emissions and noise, and are significantly cheaper to run and maintain.

WHY ELECTRIC?
Making a skid-steer loader electric powered has various advantages, some of them obvious, others less so. While ‘green’ technology adoption can be perceived as cost prohibitive or be associated with an inferior performance, the opposite is true with the  FIRST GREEN machines.

With the FIRST GREEN Industries Elise900 and MiniZ 400, businesses can attain green credentials, cut costs, and gain unique new capabilities. With their zero-emission, quiet operation, these machines are suited to working in places with stringent environmental regulations, indoor environments, or any location where noise or emissions reductions are paramount.

This opens a whole new world of possibilities for these skid-loaders, especially as the small, remotelycontrolled MiniZ 400 is able to operate in tight spaces which prohibit the use of traditional heavy equipment.

The MiniZ 400 and Elise900 machines can also reduce a company’s carbon footprint. Even when using grid-sourced electricity, they are more efficient than their diesel-powered counterparts, and will significantly reduce CO2 emissions.

SAVING MONEY
For businesses, protecting the bottom line is one of the biggest priorities, but with the FIRST GREEN Industries machines, businesses do not have to choose between being eco-friendly and financially savvy, as the machines serve both these goals. Electrical Machinery Sales made a significant comparison of the overall running costs of several diesel-powered skid-steer loaders produced by competitors. The average running costs of all these machines came to $7.66 per hour.

Meanwhile, the Elise900, a comparable machine in every aspect, costs only $1.66 per hour to run. That equates to $48 in savings for each eight-hour shift.

MORE CAPABILITIES
The batteries, which are the heaviest part of the vehicle, are mounted very low in the chassis, making for an extremely low centre of gravity. This translates into extremely good off-road performance.

The machines can also be equipped with a wide range of attachments which make them a truly universal piece of equipment.

CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY
Hand-in-hand with the highly advanced powertrains, comes a wide range of high-tech features that take working with the FIRST GREEN machines to a new level.

Whilst they are fitted with standard components such as LED working lights in all directions, there are other elements that are far from the norm for these types of machines, including Bluetooth connection for smartphones or a rear camera for the Elise900.

The one major aspect that truly sets the machines apart however, is the remote control. While this is the only way to operate the MiniZ 400, it is also available for the larger Elise900. This comes in particularly handy when working in dangerous environments where having the drive inside the vehicle poses an unacceptable risk.
