Nearmap, a leader in location intelligence, has partnered with renewable energy market intelligence provider RenewMap to integrate high-resolution aerial imagery directly into the RenewMap platform, aiming to accelerate insights and decision-making across Australia’s renewable energy sector.
The partnership allows RenewMap users — including developers, consultants, and policymakers — to overlay frequently updated, high-resolution aerial content from Nearmap, providing a sharper, more current view of the nation’s renewable energy landscape and reducing reliance on outdated satellite imagery.
“In a sector defined by rapid development and tight deadlines, access to accurate, up-to-date location data is essential,” said Dan Paull, Executive Vice President & General Manager for Australia and New Zealand at Nearmap.
The integration supports seamless visual analysis of renewable energy projects alongside contextual layers such as infrastructure footprints, Renewable Energy Zones, Local Government Areas, and resource maps, enabling remote site inspection and asset validation.
RenewMap, which tracks over 3,500 utility-scale energy projects, is widely used for project viability assessment, development pipeline tracking, and data-driven investment and policy decisions.
With Nearmap’s frequent imagery captures covering up to 95 per cent of the Australian population, users gain a consistent, real-time perspective on how energy projects and surrounding environments are evolving.
“When our users need real-time validation of ground conditions at a project site, they can’t afford to guess,” said Alex Thompson, Co-Founder and Director at RenewMap.
Together, Nearmap and RenewMap are delivering smarter, faster, and more transparent tools to support Australia’s transition to clean energy.
