Woodside the preferred partner for Meridian’s green hydrogen project

Meridian, with the support of Ngāi Tahu, have selected Woodside Energy as the preferred partner to move forward to the development stage of the proposed Southern Green Hydrogen (SGH) project in New Zealand. Queensland will be home to one of the largest onshore wind projects in the world, after global energy giant ACCIONA Energia, announced the development of a new $2 billion wind project. The new 1,000MW Herries Range Wind Farm will be built within the MacIntyre Wind Precinct, west of Warwick, bringing the precinct value to $4 billion, and the total amount of renewable energy to 2,000 MW – enough to power 1.4 million Queensland homes. Global energy provider X-ELIO celebrated the launch of its Blue Grass Solar Farm, located in Queensland’s Western Downs, 14km from Chinchilla. Partners agree on Gibson Island hydrogen study

Incitec Pivot and Fortescue Future Industries have reached an agreement to study the feasibility of green hydrogen and ammonia production on Queensland's Gibson Island from 100 per cent renewable sources. The study will assess whether industrial scale manufacturing of green ammonia at Gibson Island is technically and commercially feasible on an existing brownfield site. Venture to build green hydrogen and ammonia hubs in Bundaberg

A multimillion-dollar carbon capture renewable energy venture is set to produce hydrogen and green ammonia for export and domestic use in Bundaberg, Queensland. Additional deep-water ports have been identified around Australia to expand production. The joint venture company between Clean Holdings Pty Ltd and Singapore based CAC-H2 Pte Ltd is looking at bringing long term investment in excess of $400 million to the project. Townsville in Queensland is a step closer to a huge industry and jobs boost from a proposed energy hub and advanced manufacturing facility at the Lansdown Eco-Industrial Precinct that will refine ore to produce critical materials for use in new-technology batteries. Eni and Aeroporti di Roma (ADR), which manages the Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, have signed a strategic agreement to promote decarbonisation initiatives in the aviation sector and accelerate the ecological transition of airports.
