Global energy provider X-ELIO celebrated the launch of its Blue Grass Solar Farm, located in Queensland’s Western Downs, 14km from Chinchilla. X-ELIO has launched its Blue Grass Solar Farm, located in Queensland’s Western Downs, 14 kilometres from Chinchilla. The 200MW solar farm is one of Queensland’s 50 large-scale renewable projects and will help support the State Government’s Renewable Energy Target (QRET) to generate 70 per cent of its energy needs from renewable sources by 2032, and 80 per cent by 2035, which was recently announced as part of The Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan. Brisbane Airport soars on Stanwell’s first green energy contract

Brisbane Airport Corporation will be powered with 100 per cent renewable energy, as part of a landmark renewable energy agreement with government-owned energy generator Stanwell. The façade of Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) new city campus is completed ahead of the wet season, capping off the building’s main protection against Darwin’s tropical heat and humidity. Recycled glass and reclaimed asphalt used to revamp Clarence Street

Around 120,000 glass jars and more than 200 tonnes of reclaimed asphalt were used to refresh a one kilometre stretch of Clarence Street in Sydney. This means nearly a quarter of materials used to renew more than 8,000 square metres of road surface is recycled. The City of Sydney resurfaces around 35,000 square metres of road each year. Partners agree on Gibson Island hydrogen study

Incitec Pivot and Fortescue Future Industries have reached an agreement to study the feasibility of green hydrogen and ammonia production on Queensland's Gibson Island from 100 per cent renewable sources. The study will assess whether industrial scale manufacturing of green ammonia at Gibson Island is technically and commercially feasible on an existing brownfield site. A multimillion-dollar carbon capture renewable energy venture is set to produce hydrogen and green ammonia for export and domestic use in Bundaberg, Queensland. Additional deep-water ports have been identified around Australia to expand production. Townsville in Queensland is a step closer to a huge industry and jobs boost from a proposed energy hub and advanced manufacturing facility at the Lansdown Eco-Industrial Precinct that will refine ore to produce critical materials for use in new-technology batteries.
