ECORR invests in Jumbo Resources to expand recycling capacity

Metals recycling a key component of circular approaches in mining

Resource recovery firm ECORR Pty Ltd. has invested in South East Queensland waste management firm Jumbo Resources, boosting its capital to support expanded recycling infrastructure across the state.

The transaction follows the 2022 acquisition of Moreton Bay Recycling by Jumbo’s owners, bringing the two operational brands under a single entity.

Operating jointly out of Narangba, Jumbo Resources and Moreton Bay Recycling provide integrated waste management, recycling, and resource recovery solutions across the residential, commercial, and construction sectors.

The capital injection from ECORR will support the group’s continued expansion, targeting improvements in operational capacity, transport fleet, infrastructure, technology, and local innovations.

Importantly, the investment will cause no disruptions to the day-to-day operations of Jumbo Resources or Moreton Bay Recycling. Existing leadership teams, staffing levels, customer contracts, and operational frameworks will remain completely unchanged.

“This investment is an important milestone for our business and reflects the confidence ECORR has in our people, our strategy and the future of the Jumbo Resources group,” said Jumbo Resources CEO Rory Crundal.

“ECORR’s investment enables us to accelerate that journey while remaining focused on delivering outstanding service to our customers and creating long-term value for our stakeholders.”

ECORR Managing Director and Founder Martin O’Connell echoed the sentiment, praising Jumbo’s position in the regional market.

“Jumbo and Moreton Bay Recycling have established strong reputations within Queensland’s waste management and resource recovery sectors,” O’Connell said.

“We look forward to supporting the group’s long-term growth strategy as it continues to invest in innovation, operational excellence and sustainable outcomes.”

The alliance aims to support Queensland’s expanding infrastructure and construction industries while advancing circular economy capabilities across the region.
