Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), India’s largest renewable energy company, has achieved a significant milestone by operationalising 1,000 MW of solar energy capacity at the world’s largest renewable energy park in Khavda, Gujarat.
This achievement, completed in less than 12 months, highlights AGEL’s commitment to India’s ambitious renewable energy goals.
The Khavda project is part of AGEL’s plan to develop 30 GW of renewable energy capacity at the site over the next five years.
The entire plant will be covered with waterless robotic module cleaning systems, demonstrating AGEL’s innovative approach to maximising energy output while conserving water in the arid region.
Once fully operational, the 30 GW renewable energy park will generate approximately 81 billion units of electricity annually, enough to power over 16 million homes in India.
This output is nearly equivalent to the number of homes in entire countries like Poland, Canada, Belgium, Chile, and Switzerland.
The rapid progress at Khavda highlights AGEL’s commitment to India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
The project also reflects AGEL’s efforts to create a sustainable future, with a focus on job creation and environmental conservation.
Evidence of the company’s ability to deliver large-scale renewable energy projects points to the successful completion of India’s first and the world’s largest wind-solar hybrid cluster at Jaisalmer.
By deploying waterless cleaning robots for the entire solar capacity, AGEL is not only increasing energy output but also contributing to water conservation in the region.
This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6, highlighting AGEL’s commitment to sustainability and responsible energy practices.
