Leaders prepare for GWECCC 2025 in Bahrain



The Advisory Committee of the 2nd Global Water, Energy, and Climate Change Congress hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the presence of His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister held its first official meeting in preparation for the congress, scheduled for 9 to 11 September 2025 at Exhibition World Bahrain.

The meeting brought together senior officials and leaders from key government and private sector stakeholders to review ongoing preparations and align on the congress agenda.

Held under the theme Sustainable Water & Energy Transition: Innovating for a Secure Future, this edition will focus on water security, clean energy, climate adaptation, and emerging technologies.

The second edition will feature new initiatives like Ministerial Sessions, Leadership Roundtables, Technology & Youth Forum, Youth Innovation Hackathon engaging university students from across the GCC in fostering innovation at the water–energy–climate nexus.

A dedicated exhibition will be held alongside the Congress, where leading companies will showcase the latest advancements in water, energy, and climate best practices & technologies.

A special Innovation Zone will spotlight cutting-edge projects, giving startups a platform to showcase their innovative solutions in sustainability.

The Advisory Committee Chair concluded by commending the efforts of all members in advancing this landmark regional initiative and fostering collective action across water, energy, and climate sectors.
