ACI has announced that the European Carbon Dioxide Utilisation Summit 2026 will take place in Rotterdam on 23rd and 24th September, bringing together senior figures from across Europe’s carbon dioxide utilisation industry. Organised around the theme of turning CO2 into value at commercial scale, the two-day event will examine the policies, technologies, investment conditions and commercial strategies shaping the sector’s next phase of growth.
The summit is sponsored by GKT, Topsoe and Skylea, and will offer a strategic platform for energy majors, industrial innovators, technology developers, researchers, investors, policymakers and commercial project leaders. Discussions will focus on how carbon dioxide utilisation can move beyond early-stage innovation toward bankable, scalable deployment, at a time when Europe is accelerating its transition to climate neutrality.
Carbon dioxide utilisation is increasingly seen as a critical route to producing lower carbon fuels, chemicals, construction materials and mineralised products. Sessions across the two days will address market confidence, financing, regulatory clarity, sustainability integrity, techno-economic transparency and the development of next-generation fuel pathways.

Further sessions will look at how EU legislative drivers, incentive frameworks and investment conditions are shaping project development across fuels, chemicals and mineralisation.

Day two will place particular emphasis on sustainability, transparency and policy clarity, looking at how techno-economic assessment and lifecycle analysis can support credible market adoption. The event will close with a session examining CO2 utilisation pathways across fuels, chemical intermediates and materials, followed by a practical look at CO2 transport from industrial sites, covering pipeline, ship, rail and truck options and the effect of CO2 purity, pressure and phase on transport design.
