The Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC) has formalised its Board of Directors during its Annual General Meeting (AGM), held at Le Centre Sheraton Montreal.

The volunteer board brings together leaders from across the building sector and provides collective expertise to guide CAGBC’s strategic priorities, supporting sustainable building practices across the country.

The AGM took place just ahead of the Building Lasting Change conference, where members voted to ratify new board appointments.

Four seats were open for three-year terms, and the following directors were officially ratified:

  • Jason Manikel, Purpose Building – Design, Construction and Supply Chain
  • Lillian Tummonds, Cadillac Fairview – Real Estate Owners, Developers and Managers
  • Nicholas Gefucia, EllisDon – General Interest / At Large
  • Paul Greven, JLL – Real Estate Owners, Developers and Managers

These new appointments join the remaining members of the board, who continue to serve in their respective roles:

  • Jody Becker, Ontario Infrastructure – Design, Construction and Supply Chain
  • Ailey Roberts, BentallGreenOak – Real Estate Owners and Developers
  • Nisha Agrawal, QuadReal – Real Estate Owners and Developers
  • Kit Milnes, KingSett Capital – General Interest / At Large
  • Emma Schindler, Ash Grove (CRH Canada Inc) – Design, Construction and Supply Chain
  • Kathy Wardle, Perkins&Will – Design, Construction and Supply Chain
  • Darryl Neate, REALPAC – General Interest / At Large
  • Scott Pickles, Urban Equation – General Interest / At Large

Together, the board represents a cross-section of the Canadian building industry, drawing on expertise in design, construction, supply chain management, real estate ownership and development, and broader industry interests.

This breadth of experience is intended to help CAGBC pursue its mandate of advancing green building practices and sustainability standards nationwide.

The ratification of the new directors comes at a pivotal time for the organisation, as it prepares to engage with industry professionals at the Building Lasting Change conference, one of CAGBC’s signature events focused on sustainable building solutions and innovation in the sector.

CAGBC has long positioned itself as a leading voice in Canada’s green building movement, working with developers, designers, owners, and policymakers to promote environmentally responsible construction and operation of buildings.

The newly formalised board will play a central role in shaping the organisations direction over the coming years, as it continues to respond to evolving regulatory requirements, market demands, and climate goals within the building sector.

With the board now formally in place, CAGBC said it looks forward to advancing its strategic priorities in the months ahead, building on the momentum generated at this year’s AGM and the broader discussions expected at the Building Lasting Change conference.
