Visy launches Visy Tread, an eco-friendly surface protection solution

07 May, 2024
Visy launches Visy Tread: An Australian-Made, eco-friendly surface protection solution

Visy has unveiled its first retail product, Visy Tread, a temporary floor and surface protection solution made from 100 per cent recycled paper.

This innovative product is manufactured in Australia at Visy’s plants in Reservoir and Coolaroo, Melbourne, and can be easily recycled through Australian kerbside recycling bins.

Rod Sutton, Visy’s General Manager of Consumer Products, said: “Visy Tread has all sites and surfaces covered, plus it’s made from 100 per cent recycled paper, that you can easily recycle when you’re finished.”

He emphasised its ease of use and versatility, suitable for various jobs from industrial work sites to home DIY projects.

The Visy Tread range includes two options: Heavy Duty Surface Protection for long-term construction, renovations, and DIY projects, and Builders Temporary Surface Protection for smaller tasks like renovations, DIY projects, and moving homes.

Both products protect surfaces from paint spills, stains, and scratches during construction or renovation projects.

Visy’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond Visy Tread.

Earlier this year, the company launched recyclable paper bags as an alternative to single-use plastic bags.

These efforts align with Visy’s broader goal of powering the circular economy by closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing, and recycling.

With over 75 years of experience and 7,000 employees globally, Visy remains an Australian family-owned company.

It partners with councils across Australia to process approximately 40 per cent of the country’s kerbside recycling bins, diverting materials from landfills and reducing emissions.

Visy’s launch of Visy Tread and its ongoing sustainability initiatives underscore its commitment to providing environmentally friendly solutions for consumers and businesses alike, supporting local jobs, and reducing reliance on single-use plastics.
