Trinasolar launches Australia-exclusive solar module

Trinasolar’s Vertex S+ G3 515W solar module exclusively for Australia’s residential and C&I sectors

Trinasolar has launched a high-efficiency solar module designed exclusively for the Australian residential and commercial markets.

The new Vertex S+ delivers a 515W output, a move Trinasolar says is tailored for local installers looking to squeeze every drop of energy out of limited Australian roof space.

As Australian homeowners and businesses look to maximise their returns under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), the efficiency of individual panels has become paramount. The Vertex S+ boasts a 24.7 per cent efficiency rate within a standard footprint, allowing installers to reach 100kW system thresholds with fewer modules.

Edison Zhou, Head of Australia for Trinasolar Asia Pacific, noted that the product is a direct response to the specific needs of the local market.

“We see 510-515W range as the practical ‘sweet spot’ for Australian rooftop systems,” Zhou said.

“Installers are consistently looking for higher wattage, higher efficiency modules that fit standard dimensions, particularly where system design is constrained by roof size and configuration.”

Beyond raw power, the module has been adapted for Australia’s notoriously harsh climate. It features a dual-glass structure for long-term durability and a low temperature coefficient of -0.26 per cent/°C, ensuring the panels continue to perform even during blistering summer heatwaves.

The module is built on Trinasolar’s latest n-type i-TOPCon ultra cell architecture. By utilising zero-busbar and zero-gap technologies, the design minimises electrical losses and increases power density. A lower voltage design means more flexible string sizing, making it easier to design layouts around complex roof lines or specific inverter requirements.

Following final certification and listing requirements, the modules are expected to begin appearing on Australian rooftops from the early third quarter of 2026.
