Flender has announced the completion of a state-of-the-art service facility in Campbellfield, Melbourne, through its wind division, Winergy.
The move represents a strategic investment in Australia’s expanding renewable energy market, furthering local service capabilities, job creation, and reduced carbon footprint in support of the nation’s clean energy transition.
The new Melbourne facility — designed to meet the evolving needs of Australia’s growing wind turbine base — will serve as Winergy’s primary service hub in Australia, joining other service centres across the country and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
This marks a critical step in Flender’s pledge to be close to its customers in a rapidly growing wind energy market.
Flender CEO Andreas Evertz said: “Our new Melbourne facility reflects Flender’s dedication to being close to our customers and providing world-class service locally.
“As Australia’s wind energy capacity continues to grow, local service infrastructure becomes increasingly critical.
“This facility enables us to deliver our proven Service360 solutions with the responsiveness and efficiency that only a local presence can provide.”
Equipped from the ground up for both current and future wind turbine drivetrain service demands, the Campbellfield centre boasts Australia’s largest multi-megawatt test bench to ensure comprehensive load testing tailored to customer requirements.
Heavy-lift crane capacity supports handling of current and next-generation drivetrain components.
The facility’s advanced logistics, modern racking systems, and integrated office and workshop design optimise workflows, enabling a highly collaborative and solutions-oriented service environment.
Kareem Emara, Managing Director of Flender Australia and New Zealand, highlighted the facility’s role in advancing Australia’s sustainable energy future: “By establishing comprehensive service capabilities in Australia, we’re not only supporting the local wind energy industry but also contributing to the broader goal of reducing carbon emissions.
“Local service means faster response times, reduced logistics requirements, and a smaller environmental footprint — all while creating meaningful employment opportunities for Australian workers and investing in the country’s renewable energy infrastructure.”
Further emphasising Flender’s independent service approach, Antti Turunen, Vice President Wind Service, added: “Winergy Service360 specialises in multibrand wind turbine drivetrain service, providing comprehensive support regardless of original equipment manufacturer.
“This vendor-independent approach ensures Australian wind farm operators have access to expert service and support for their entire fleet.”
The nation is striving towards a renewable energy future with goals including achieving 95 per cent renewable energy by 2035 in regions such as Victoria.
The Flender facility in Melbourne also prioritises workplace safety, maintaining a zero-accident standard and fulfilling all necessary occupational certifications.
Its comprehensive IT infrastructure and network security solutions ensure reliable and secure operations.
