CPB Contractors unveils groundbreaking zero-emission mobile site office

CPB Contractors, Australia’s largest construction company and a member of the CIMIC Group, has launched its first zero-emission and self-sufficient mobile site office, the EcoPro Site Facilities.

This innovative off-grid solution marks a significant step forward in sustainable construction practices.

The EcoPro Site Facility, designed and built in-house by CPB Contractors’ plant and assets team, represents a major advancement in sustainable construction technology.

After rigorous testing, the prototype has been deployed to its first major infrastructure project in Sydney.

Key features of the EcoPro Site Facility include:

  • 100 per cent renewable power
  • Self-sufficiency
  • Mobility for various project types
  • Zero environmental footprint

The facility is housed in a repurposed shipping container and boasts impressive sustainable features:

  • 5.55kW solar system
  • 24.6kW battery (expandable)
  • 8kW inverter
  • 545L rainwater tank
  • 24m² rainwater collection area

These features enable the facility to capture up to 24,000 litres of drinkable water annually and operate without the need for a backup generator.

Jason Spears, CPB Contractors Managing Director, emphasised the transformative potential of this new asset: “This new asset has the potential to be a game changer, not only for CPB Contractors, our partners and clients but for our industry and for regional businesses and communities.”

Wade Rogan, CPB Contractors Plants and Assets Manager, added that the EcoPro Site Facility sets a new benchmark for mobile offices, being the first truly sustainable and self-sufficient product of its kind in the market.

The company plans to roll out this new asset across future projects and worksites.

This initiative aligns with CPB Contractors’ commitment to achieving net zero Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions across its activities by 2045.

The company regularly assesses the changing needs of its clients and the industry, demonstrating its dedication to driving sustainable change.

As Australia accelerates its transition to new energy solutions, innovations like the EcoPro Site Facility are crucial in enabling the construction industry to deliver infrastructure without impacting surrounding environments and communities.

The launch of the EcoPro Site Facility underscores CPB Contractors’ role as a leader in sustainable construction practices, setting a new standard for the industry and contributing to a more environmentally responsible future.
