New renewably-powered desalination plant planned for Alkimos

Alkimos has been selected as the preferred location for the State's next major water source - a renewably-powered seawater desalination plant that will provide safe, secure drinking water to millions of Western Australians. Proposed on Water Corporation land north-east of Alkimos Beach and subject to environmental approval, the plant will be capable of delivering 100 billion litres of drinking water annually to support the Integrated Water Supply Scheme (IWSS). Battery blitz grows Queensland’s energy storage capacity

The Queensland Government will invest funds from the 2022 Budget to ramp up the state’s energy independence by building the largest utility-scale battery as part of another battery blitz to grow energy storage capacity. Financial close reached for Richborough Energy Park battery development

Pacific Green Technologies, Inc. has reached financial close for US$34.90 million of senior debt for the company's 99.98 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) at Richborough Energy Park. The senior debt, in conjunction with the equity investment by Green Power Reserves Limited, will provide the company with the funding to bring the battery park to commercial operations in June 2023. The façade of Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) new city campus is completed ahead of the wet season, capping off the building’s main protection against Darwin’s tropical heat and humidity. Recycled glass and reclaimed asphalt used to revamp Clarence Street

Around 120,000 glass jars and more than 200 tonnes of reclaimed asphalt were used to refresh a one kilometre stretch of Clarence Street in Sydney. This means nearly a quarter of materials used to renew more than 8,000 square metres of road surface is recycled. The City of Sydney resurfaces around 35,000 square metres of road each year.
