Mulpha Australia has marked a significant milestone in the construction of its ambitious zero-carbon residential development, Norwest Quarter, located in Sydney’s Hills district.
The company recently held a topping-out ceremony for Lacebark, the first apartment building in the precinct, signalling progress towards its completion in the second half of 2025.
This achievement comes on the heels of Mulpha’s strong performance in the independent Construction Industry Rating Tool (iCIRT), where it secured a 4 out of 5-star rating.
The iCIRT, developed by Equifax in consultation with the NSW government, assesses building professionals and firms across six key criteria.
Mulpha’s high rating indicates its trustworthiness and capability to deliver quality buildings that meet expectations.

Lacebark, designed by Smart Design Studio, will offer 81 premium apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms, including penthouses.
The building will feature spacious balconies, convenient shops and restaurants, and resident-only amenities such as a lounge, swimming pool, and sundeck.
Norwest Quarter is set to become the first zero-carbon precinct in the Hills area.
The development’s first stage will deliver 181 net zero apartments powered entirely by renewable electric energy, consuming 50 per cent less electricity from the grid.
The apartments have achieved a NatHERS rating of 8.1, placing them in the top 10 per cent of NSW and well above the Hills average of 6.6.
The project incorporates numerous sustainable features, including rooftop solar panels, high-performance air-conditioning, energy-efficient appliances, and initiatives to promote biodiversity and reduce urban heat island effects.
Upon completion, Norwest Quarter will transform 3.8 hectares into a vibrant community for over 2,000 residents, featuring nine residential towers, 26,000 square metres of green open space, and 6,000 square metres dedicated to retail and community facilities.
The development’s proximity to Norwest Metro Station enhances its appeal as a sustainable urban living solution.
With more than half of Lacebark’s apartments already sold, Mulpha’s achievement in construction and sustainability standards positions Norwest Quarter as a pioneering development in eco-friendly urban living.
