Trinasolar has partnered with Smart Commercial Solar to complete a cutting-edge solar panel installation at AstraZeneca’s Macquarie Park manufacturing complex in Sydney.
The project, featuring an advanced solar carport, marks a significant step in commercial renewable energy innovation.
The installation comprises 1,092 Trinasolar bifacial modules, generating approximately 911 MWh of clean energy annually.
This impressive output will meet 16 per cent of the site’s energy needs, contributing substantially to AstraZeneca’s sustainability goals.
Completed in just six months, the project also integrates four electric vehicle charging stations, further enhancing the facility’s green credentials.
Anastasi Kotoros, Project Lead from Smart Commercial Solar, highlighted the importance of selecting appropriate hardware for commercial installations.
“Trinasolar’s bifacial modules allow sunlight to pass through and increase yield from reflected rays.
“This enabled us to create a practical, user-friendly solar car park that perfectly complements AstraZeneca’s sustainability goals,” Kotoros stated.
Edison Zhou, Group Director of Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan for Trinasolar Asia Pacific, expressed enthusiasm for the project’s success.
“This installation not only provides much-needed shade in the hotter months but also contributes to AstraZeneca’s ambitious sustainability targets.
The collaboration with Smart Commercial Solar has resulted in a high-quality, visually impressive system that will deliver meaningful energy savings for AstraZeneca for years to come,” Zhou commented.
The Macquarie Park carport installation aligns with AstraZeneca’s global Ambition Zero Carbon program, which aims to reduce scope one and two energy emissions by 98 per cent by the end of 2025.
By powering four EV chargers, the project also supports AstraZeneca’s transition to electric vehicles, offering tangible benefits to both employees and visitors.
This collaboration between Trinasolar and Smart Commercial Solar showcases their shared commitment to advancing renewable energy adoption in Australia.
By combining Trinasolar’s high-efficiency solar technology with Smart Commercial Solar’s design and installation expertise, the project sets a new standard for rooftop solar installations, demonstrating an increasingly popular solution for organizations striving to meet their sustainability objectives.
