Automobile and bus manufacturer Joylong Australia has recently completed the first independent road test of its latest electric E6 commuter bus.
The E6 is configured to carry up to 14 people in spacious, offers air-conditioned comfort, requires little maintenance, and provides for a zero running emissions driving experience.
The electric bus is powered by a 60 kW water-cooled electric motor accompanied by a 86.1 kWh liquid-cooled batter pack that provides plenty of range for overall speed and performance.
This also offers drivers and passengers with a quiet driving experience.
Truck journalist David Meredith stated that the Joylong E6 was able to effectively handle a combination of city and suburban roads in an agile and responsive manner.
When compared to regular combustion buses, the safety levels of this bus are increased due to the central location of the battery pack beneath the floor.
Meredith also compared the E6 to its predecessor which featured a Toyota HiAce base.
He stated that the E6 was completely void of any “rumbling, diesel clatter or transmission hum” when he drove it across high-speed freeways — unlike the HiAce.
Joylong’s electric E6 commuter bus has been thoroughly tested in Australia over a two-year period and has been proven to withstand Australia’s unique weather and terrain.
