Renewable Baseload Generators, in partnership with Staunch Machinery Australia and ProGreen Biofuels provides biodiesel-driven generators that can deliver 100 per cent carbon neutral and renewable electricity on demand.
Biodiesel is an immediate alternative to mineral diesel; it is locally made, 100 per cent renewable and 100 per cent carbon-neutral, matching the green credentials of wind and solar.
It is a drop-in replacement for mineral diesel and can be used in existing approved machinery instead of waiting for new technology to be developed.
As Australia manoeuvres its energy mix to balance the effect of intermittent renewables, the dispatchable capacity of backup diesel generators has been recognised as the last line of defence when the grid reaches its stress point.
This means a diesel generator supports a business while it takes its electrical load off the grid, or to generate electricity that can be exported to the grid to help during those electrical supply shortages.
Due to the limited supply of biodiesel in Australia, the use of continuous run bio-diesel generators has not been an option. However RBG believes, in short-run applications such as back up, temporary or dispatchable power, biodiesel generators are an excellent green option.
While the world is embracing and supporting biodiesel as part of their fuel mix in their transition to future solutions like green hydrogen or electrification, Australia seems to be playing catch up.
Australia now has the opportunity to lead this new wave of biodiesel powered, carbon neutral, dispatchable generators. But we need our government to step up to the plate as other governments offer supportive grants and incentives to help accelerate their industry, while here in Australia our government continues to apply an excise tax to locally produced biodiesel.
Biodiesel is here now, it is completely renewable, and is accepted in Australia as 100 per cent carbon neutral under the NGER reporting mechanism. Importantly, biodiesel is locally made so it stimulates the local economy and contributes to local and national fuel security.
RBG and Staunch Machinery can provide a full range of biodiesel generators, from 7 kilowatts to 3,000 kilowatts. ProGreen Biofuels can work with a biodiesel generator owner to introduce and manage their biodiesel supply from production through to delivery, storage and claiming carbon credits where applicable.
