The 2024 ARENA Renewables Startup Showcase, a prestigious event connecting promising startups with elite investors in the renewable energy sector, is set to return for its fifth year.
Scheduled for November 21 in Sydney, the event is a joint initiative by Innovation Bay and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).
Applications are now open for early-stage founders in the renewables, clean tech, and climate tech sectors.
The showcase aims to highlight startups looking to raise capital or expand within the next two to three years, offering them a platform to present directly to investors and secure potential funding and partnerships.
Darren Miller, CEO of ARENA, emphasised the critical role of startups in achieving Australia’s net zero emissions goal.
Phaedon Stough, CEO and Co-Founder of Innovation Bay, expressed pride in the partnership and the thriving innovation in the Australian renewables sector.
The program extends over several weeks, allowing startups to engage with the broader Innovation Bay community.
Previous participants include Hysata, which recently raised a US$111 million Series B funding round, as well as other notable companies like 5B, RayGen, and MGA Thermal.
Interested startups can apply until September 30, 2024, at 11:59 PM AEST.
A committee of industry leaders will review applications on a rolling basis, with four companies ultimately selected to present at the gala.
The event will feature thought leadership on emerging technologies in renewable energy, a sit-down gala experience, and networking opportunities.
While speakers for this year are yet to be announced, past events have featured industry luminaries such as Mike Cannon-Brookes of Atlassian and Robyn Denholm, Tesla Board Chair.
Tickets for the 2024 ARENA Renewables Startup Showcase will be available for purchase in September.
