ArchiBuild Expo 2025 Introduces the FutureBuild Neighbourhood: Pioneering Sustainable Innovation in the Built Environment

ArchiBuild Expo has announced the launch of the FutureBuild Neighbourhood, an innovative zone dedicated to the latest breakthroughs in the built environment. As the centrepiece of ArchiBuild Expo on the 12-14 June 2025, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the FutureBuild Neighbourhood will spotlight cutting-edge materials, eco-friendly technologies, and forward-thinking practices that are driving the building industry towards achieving crucial Net-Zero and Nature Positive goals.

The FutureBuild Neighbourhood will serve as a transformative platform where Architects, Builders, Specifiers, Designers, and Developers come together to explore innovative solutions designed to reshape the built environment. As the global construction sector faces increasing pressure to meet sustainability targets, this initiative will play a pivotal role in fostering industry-wide change and advancing the future of green building practices.

In a sector responsible for a significant share of global carbon emissions and resource consumption, the FutureBuild Neighbourhood offers a timely and essential showcase of sustainable solutions. In collaboration with leading partners including the Australian Institute of Architects, Global GreenTag, International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™), prefabAUS and the Materials & Embodied Carbon Leaders’ Alliance (MECLA), the FutureBuild Neighbourhood will highlight the importance of sustainability through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the promotion of cutting-edge products and technologies.

Key Features of the FutureBuild Neighbourhood:

  • Access to Innovative Solutions: showcasing the latest sustainable building materials and technologies that reduce environmental impact while improving efficiency.
  • Collaboration Across Industry: offering opportunities to exchange ideas and strategies that promote sustainable practices.
  • Certified Green Products: access to eco-certified products from leading certification bodies like Global GreenTag, ensuring that materials meet high sustainability standards.
  • Driving Industry Transformation: demonstrating how adopting innovative practices benefits both the environment and business profitability.

Ash North, Event Director for ArchiBuild Expo, underscores the significance of this initiative:

“The FutureBuild Neighbourhood is a vital addition to ArchiBuild Expo, spotlighting the companies and solutions that are shaping the future of our industry. Now more than ever, we must embrace sustainability not only as a responsibility but as an opportunity to innovate and thrive. This dedicated space will inspire collaboration and action, uniting the industry in the push for a greener, more sustainable future.”

David Baggs, CEO and Technical Director of Global GreenTag International, adds:

“We are thrilled to support the FutureBuild Neighbourhood, a platform for showcasing products and technologies that meet the highest standards of sustainability. This event is a major milestone for Australia’s building sector, offering a crucial space to highlight what’s possible for a healthier, more sustainable built environment.”

FutureBuild Neighbourhood at ArchiBuild Expo is organised by National Media, who have a growing portfolio of events in the design & build sectors, including Design Show Australia and Kitchen+Bath Show.
