Schneider Electric Foundation celebrates 25th anniversary with global youth innovation campaign

Schneider Electric is marking the 25th anniversary of its foundation with a global campaign aimed at supporting young innovators committed to building a fairer, low-carbon society.

The “Youth Innovation For A Sustainable Future” campaign, launched in collaboration with social entrepreneurship partner Ashoka, will award funding to impactful youth projects across five continents.

The initiative will culminate in a €50,000 global prize to be presented at the COP29 climate summit in Bakou, Azerbaïdjan.

In the Asia-Pacific region, which includes Australia and New Zealand, five winning projects will be selected.

The top project will receive €30,000, with additional prizes ranging from €20,000 to €5,000 for runners-up.

Young people aged 15-30 can submit entries until July 22, with winners to be announced on August 26, 2024.

Colette Munro, Pacific Zone President of Schneider Electric, expressed pride in supporting youth-driven initiatives: “There are many initiatives being driven by young people around the world to tackle growing social and environmental challenges.

“I’m so proud that we’re supporting their incredible innovation and impact by honouring them during the Foundation’s 25th anniversary”.

The Schneider Electric Foundation, established in 1999, has a history of supporting changemakers in sustainable development, social inclusion, and community empowerment.

This campaign reaffirms its commitment to fostering youth-led solutions to pressing global issues.

Projects selected will gain visibility through Schneider Electric’s and Ashoka’s social media channels, with an additional opportunity for a €2,000 prize based on Schneider employee votes.

As the world grapples with urgent social and environmental challenges, this initiative aims to harness the innovative potential of young leaders, providing them with the resources and platform to drive meaningful change towards a more sustainable future.
