Ohme and Sparky Direct expand charging

Dynamic smart EV charging company Ohme has announced a new partnership with Sparky Direct, one of Australia’s leading online electrical wholesalers, aimed at making home and workplace EV charging more accessible across the country.

Founded in 2005, Sparky Direct is a family-owned business recognised for its outstanding service and strong support for electricians and end users nationwide.

Under the new partnership, Sparky Direct will offer Ohme’s Home Pro and ePod chargers, both designed specifically for the Australian market.

“Ohme’s technology will redefine the smart charging experience for our customers,” said Cameron Pratt, General Manager of Sparky Direct.

“Its solar compatibility, energy tariff integration and WiFi connectivity make it one of the most complete and user-friendly EV charging solutions on the market.

“We’re excited to bring this innovation to our customers and help drive the transition to sustainable transport.”

Ohme’s smart technology is designed to help motorists save significantly on charging costs by integrating with off-peak energy tariffs and rooftop solar systems.

Each charger also includes a CT clamp, streamlining installation for professionals while ensuring a more convenient solution for homeowners.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Sparky Direct, a business that shares our values of quality, innovation, and customer-first service,” said Xavier Peña, Head of Partnerships at Ohme.

“Together, we’re making EV ownership more accessible and affordable for Australians, while supporting the country’s shift toward cleaner energy.”

Ohme is the UK’s largest home EV charging provider and the fastest-growing in Europe.

Its charging solutions are trusted by major automakers, including Volkswagen Group, Volvo Cars, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, and Suzuki, and are widely used by large fleets such as Motability, the UK’s National Health Service, and SG Fleet.

The company’s recent accolades include being named Best Electric Charging Point Provider and Best Electric Van Charging Point Provider at the 2025 Business Motoring and Business Van awards in the UK.

Ohme has also been recognised among the Top 5 EV chargers in Australia by Solar Choice, a leading solar comparison platform.
