Haier launches comprehensive solar energy solutions in Australia and New Zealand

Haier has officially entered the solar energy market in Australia and New Zealand, unveiling a comprehensive range of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, batteries, and electric vehicle (EV) chargers at the All Energy tradeshow held on October 23, 2024.

This marks a significant expansion for Haier, a company well-known for its home appliances and air conditioning systems.

Setting itself apart from competitors, Haier is offering a unified solar platform designed to cater to both residential and commercial needs.

This platform allows customers to source solar panels, batteries, and inverters from a single supplier, thereby simplifying the process by eliminating the need for multiple partners and reducing complexities related to warranties and customer service contacts.

In addition to solar products, Haier is promoting a whole-of-home solution that includes energy-efficient heat pump hot water systems and air conditioning units.

This integrated approach creates a connected ecosystem that encompasses a wide array of appliances, enhancing energy efficiency across homes and businesses.

Solar power is increasingly recognised as a clean and renewable energy source that can significantly reduce carbon emissions for households, commercial enterprises, and industrial operations.

Haier’s entry into this sector aligns with global trends towards sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Currently, Haier’s solar products are managed through the Nahui Energy App, which is set to be rebranded as the Haier Energy App.

The company is also developing integration capabilities with its SmartHQ app, expected to launch in 2025.

This development aims to establish a sophisticated energy management platform that will provide customers with visibility and control over their energy consumption and generation across all Haier and Fisher & Paykel appliances.

As one of the world’s largest brands in home appliances, Haier has built a strong reputation since its founding in China in 1984.

The company has expanded its offerings to include industrial and commercial solutions alongside residential products.

Over the past three years since establishing Haier New Energy — responsible for its solar initiatives— the company has reported over US$300 million in turnover, with ambitious targets set for 2024 aiming at US$600 million.

Haier’s commitment to innovation and customer-centric design continues to position it as a leader in the global market, now extending its reach into renewable energy solutions with the potential to transform energy consumption patterns in Australia and New Zealand.
